Activities on second week

Assalamualaikum Warahmatullah..

Lets Start with My second Week Activities
Still stay on my blog..

Activities on 2nd Week
A. Academic Service
On second week, I was observing about academic service by FEU,  we agreed that every school is an institution who helps students to develop their  knowledges, attitude, talent, and other thing skills of the students.  so that’s why to make that happen the school have to offered the best service for students even in academic and non-academic. FEU High School is the one of an institution which really considering about that especially in Globalization Era. Some of the academic service FEU High School offered are in academic they have :
·         SAILS ( Students Alternative Integrated Learning Session), this program already I have observed on first week which is the purpose of this program to allowed the students take another classes and  their interest but its not formal classes
·         STRIDE ( Students Training For Responsible Individuality Discipline Enchancement and service )
For Non- Academic , they have :
·       MILES/CLUB
·       Multiple Intelligences Learning Experiences Session
·       Science Club
·       Robotics
Besides that FEU High School offered some facilities include academic service such are library, clinic, GO CARE (Guidance Councelling), Discipline Office, and Publication. Below is the sub facility FEU High School Offered
a. Library
·         Acquisition of Books, Audio-visual, Publications,
·         World Book Online
·         Classroom Visit/Workshop

b. GO CARE (Guidance Councelling)
GO CARE include of the academic support system to help students in any case academic and troubles. To solve the problems of course depend of each students. As long as far, there is no big problem of counsellar meet. There are several  program and activities of GO CARE based on schedule such are seminar,  personality test, exit interview, club which following students, and achievement test  all the programs still corporate with advisor, and faculty team who handle the classes .
Every program offered like carrier test purpose to see college, major, and knowledge their interest. This test are given to grade 12th and to prepare their college and the students can choice their major based on interest and the academics,  But sometimes the obstacle of GO CARE Officers are checked of the test. It could be a month to taking place.  Another also offered is the achievement test which purpose to see about knowledge of the students, the content of the result achievement test is show that which one of subject you get higher, and the weakness. This achievement test for all students 11th and 12th  every strand. Personality test to show what the personalities are students with corporate advisor. We know that each student has different characteristic so the act of advisor really needed if there students look like has a problem, the advisor can report to the officer about that. If advisor cannot, Club of GO CARE which following by students can also being a bridge to help their friends to GO CARE. Exit Interview is the program for student already or on going to graduated. Another thing also Discipline Office, is the program which also can corporate with GO CARE.

c. Publication, with this program FEU High School can produce or publish  newspaper from English and Tagalog Version

Another programs was really interesting for me that, homeroom module. This activities are advisor and the student conduct prayer together, sing a national anthem, and can talking about problem students in learning, its like quality time between students and their advisor. Homeroom module taken  time at early morning start from 7.00-7.30 pm. So eventhough the FEU just operated in 2016 but there are some achievement, the students already got like making bridge competition and  FEU got the Winner and Runner Up and another achievement.

B. Given Pre-Test
I will be teaching for one week, and to know how understand students when I have taught, the test really needed to evaluate, so at beginning I given them pre-test and can compared with the post-test after I have taught. I hope that after already taught, scores could be change with best score at the post test. The objectives between pre-test and post test are same. At the FEU High School, I will handle three classes of STEM strand. They are STEM 2, 3 and 13.

Beside that i also continue my observation on teacher(s) in another classes and here

Planning for teaching

Before teaching in his class, teachers arranged teaching guide in line with the curriculum.  This is an example lesson plan from my mentor. Topics are arranged according to how many hours it should be taught and if it only needs reviewing or thorough discussion.

TEACHING GUIDE
A.  Content Standards
The learners demonstrate an understanding of
1. Electric potential energy
2. Electric potential
3. Equipotential surfaces
4. Electric field as a potential gradient
5. Electric potential
B.   Performance Standards
The learners shall be able to use theoretical and experimental approaches to
solve multi-concept and rich-context problems involving electricity and
magnetism.

C. Learning Competencies
At the end of the session, the students should be able to :
1. Define operationally the electric potential;
2. Relate the electric potential with work, potential energy, and electric field (STEM_GP12EM-IIIb-15)
3. Evaluate the potential at any point in a region containing point charge (STEM_GP12EM-IIIb-16)
4. Draw and represent equipotential lines or equipotential curves.
5. Calculate the electric potential due to a charge distribution.
D. Prerequisite Knowledge
Electric field, electric force, electric charge, work done by a variable force
E.  Prerequisite Skills
Mathematical acumen (in integration, variation analysis), drawing skill (i.e. proper illustration or representation of problem)

LESSON ACTIVITIES
Time Allotment: 1 Meeting

INTRODUCTION

1.      Review the concept of work. Suppose an object is under the action of a constant force. Make sketches (using arrows) showing the relative directions of the force and object’s displacement when the work done by the force is: positive, negative, zero.
2.       Suppose an object travels from point A to point B. Suppose also that two constant opposite forces F1 and F2 act on the object. When might the net work done on the object be positive, negative, zero? Illustrate your answers.

MOTIVATION
1.      Ask a student to determine the electric force F experienced by a test charge +q in the presence of an electric field E. [Here the student is expected to invoke the definition of the electric field E = F/q so that F = qE and that since q is positive then F is in the same direction as E.].
2.      Now, suppose the charge in No. 1 is made to move at constant velocity from point A to point B against the direction of E. Determine the magnitude of the force F2 that must be applied to carry this out. [Here the student is expected to answer F2  = – F= – qE.]
3.      Ask a student to write down the expression for the infinitesimal work done in moving the charge +q from point A to some other displacement towards point B at constant velocity against E. [Here the student is expected to answer dW = F2 ∙ dr = -qE ∙ dr] Then, ask for the total work done in doing the same. [Here the student is expected to answer W = =  = -q . The ratio of the total work done in moving the charge from A to B to the charge q is called the electric potential difference or simply the electric potential V = VB – VA = WA->B / q = –

INSTRUCTION

1.      Write down the expression for the electric field E at a distance r away from a source charge +Q. You can do this in two ways: first, by calculating F electric between +Q and some test charge +q separated by a distance r, and then using the definition of the electric field E, or second, by invoking Gauss’s law.
2.      [Here the expected answer is E = E = r̂.] Now, write down the expression for the potential V = VB - VA in moving a test charge q from point A to point B against the electric field E.
3.      [Here the expected answer is V = = -∫ E ∙ dr = -∫ E ∙ dr = -∫ r̂ ∙ drr̂ = -kQ∫ r-2dr = -kQ [- ] = kQ [ - ]]
4.      Rewrite your answer in No. 2, assuming rB = r and rA = ∞. So that now, the electric potential V at a distance r away from a source charge Q is given by the expression: V = . What makes this expression much easier to interpret than the expression for the electric field E?
5.       Have the students solve these problems and interpret the output:
a.       Find V 1.0 m away from a +1-C charge. Draw where this V is measured in
(i) 1 dimension  (ii) 2 dimensions, and (iii) in 3 dimensions.
b.      Find V 1.0 m away from a –1-C charge. Draw where this V is measured in (i) 1 dimension, (ii) 2 dimensions, and (iii) in 3 dimensions.
DISCUSSION
1.      Inquire about the factors that affect the electric potential V.
2.      The locus of points having the same potential V is called an equipotential line or an equipotential curve. Draw the equipotential lines around a positive source charge Q.
3.      Draw the equipotential lines around a positive source charge Q.

EVALUATION AND ENRICHMENT
(Calculation of the Total Electric Potential):
1. Have the students calculate the total electric potential at the center of:
a.         A line segment of length 1.0 m with a +1-C charge and a –1-C charge at its endpoints;
b.         An equilateral triangle of side length 1.0 m with alternating +1-C, –1-C, and +1-C charges placed at its vertices;
c.         A square of side length 1.0 m with alternating +1-C, –1-C, +1-C, and –1-C charges placed at its vertices
2. How did your answers in No. 1 compare with you electric field calculations for similar configurations.

Preparing lessons and materials
In one unit of material, teacher divided the materials into 3 objectives. The objectives taking time allotment for 1 meeting, .  For one lessons teacher only teaching about concept at the beginning of the class  and using the formula of physics will be the next meeting. So students still focus with idea of the concept and formula. Teacher use media learning like power point, and prepared materials for games like box and small pieces of paper which its content about objectives.

  Teaching in class
In introduction step, teacher started  with showed  about what student should be able to after the class, beside that teacher  making student interest and give the opinion  with some case in the introduction. In main activities, teacher explain the objectives and given them games. The rules was every students got small pieces of paper with the content about objectives and student should be answer and got the point,  to make student more excited teacher divided students into two group, but assignment still for each students whenever teacher said running score, representative of each group will compete as long as fast to count how much score already during class so the representatives got point. In the last activities, teacher asked students to answer the quiz as evaluation test and its will be recorded.

Games Condition
 Measurement and Evaluation
There are always evaluation test at the last session of each meeting. Students did a quiz to knew how far students understanding. There was one thing I interested that the evaluation not only for essay test or multiple choices but some teacher used various types of question like true and false question and another things to make students became critical thinker solve the problem.

In Second Weekend, we are touring around the Philippines, and in this second week me, Sri, and Nurul  were accompined by Sir Dr. Stephen Jay, D.CO visited some placed like Manila Ocean Park and Rizal Park for refreshing, In Manila Ocean Park, we visited Big Aquarium which was fulled by small fish untill Giant Fish, we saw many kind of fish, I was so excited because it was my first time to me.

Another Place we also visited was Barnyard, we saw yard of rabbits, hamster, and specially home of birds. In home of bird, we feed the birds and instantly some birds descend on my hand and peck on food. It was so funny and touching for me, but my hand felt little bit ill haha, I just taken by video for this experience, but this was the photos who can taken by my friends and also Sir Sr. Stephen Jay, D.Co helped us to take every moment ( Thank you sir...)

After that we went roaming to Rizal Park as place of zero kilometres of Manila, and we were so lucky because that day was early February, and February is National Arts Months. At there, some booth. Booth for making kite, booth for making our faces draw on the paper. We prefered making kite who taught by the expert hehe.. It was easy firstly but actually hard to make symmetrical for every side haha..

And also there were performance arts from any background of education like college, senior high school and junior high. They were dancing, singing, and other art performance. We enjoyed to watch that performanced
